Painting With Acrylics

Acrylic paint is the synthetic equivalent to oil paint. Acrylics have the same pictorial effects as oils and are excellent for beginning painters. Because acrylics have very little odor and the brush can be cleaned with soap and water; this is an ideal medium for people with respiratory problems. I switched to acrylics when my asthma became problematic working with turpentine which is used to clean oil paint off of brushes. Also, acrylic paint has a much shorter drying time than oil paint.
